Bélo Releases “Drapo M Nan II” with Star-Studded Haitian Lineup on Flag Day

Haitian singer-songwriter Bélo has released “Drapo M Nan II,” a new 2026 remix of his popular patriotic track “Drapo M Nan,” released for Haitian Flag Day

The song brings together a strong lineup of established and respected figures in Haitian music, including James Germain, Richard Cavé, Joseph Zenny Jr, Paul Beaubrun, Lunise Morse, Pipo Klass, Mac D, Rutshelle Guillaume, Widmusic, Tafa Mi-Soleil, and Arly Larivière. This collective effort revives and updates a piece that has become a modern anthem celebrating the Haitian bicolore flag and the nation’s history of resilience.

Originally released in 2017 with a different set of collaborators, the first version of “Drapo M Nan” gained widespread popularity for its uplifting message and emotional connection to Haitian identity. The 2026 edition refreshes the track with new voices while maintaining its core themes of pride, unity, and reverence for the flag as a symbol of freedom and endurance.

The release arrives at a significant moment, as Haitians at home and in the diaspora observe Flag Day amid ongoing national challenges. Like many patriotic songs in Haitian music, “Drapo M Nan II” balances celebration of cultural heritage with an underlying call for solidarity. It serves as both a nostalgic nod to tradition and a contemporary expression of hope.

Bélo, known for his socially conscious work and distinctive blend of roots, kompa, and folk influences, continues to play a central role in producing music that resonates during key national occasions. The new version is now available on major streaming platforms and has begun circulating widely as part of Flag Day observances.
